At your convenience :
1. Bundler + PMVS2
Or
2. Bundler + CMVS + PMVS2 on each computed cluster.
It could be launch with ease with two script in each case.
1. RunBundler.py + RunPMVS.py
2. RunBundler.py + RunCMVS.py
The archive is here and release with binary for windows 32 and 64 bits !
And for sure I have test the path 2. with a large dataset of 251 photos (2.1 * 2.8 MegaPixels) and I show you the results :
It looks pretty. Is'nt it ! A point cloud of 8 350 379 points !
Very cool stuff. I am looking forward to tinkering around with this. Have you seen the insight3d software? I just tried it out yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWith the many different efforts going on out there, I am very interested in developing open source photogrammetry further. It might be worth combining forces in order to do something along the lines of what GIMP has accomplished in the GNU realm.
I do not know anything about Python. I do not know how to operate the osm-bundle package for windows.
ReplyDeleteCan you explain it step by step?
Thank you.
After you installed everything. go to your start window and open a command prompt. You know, The Dos looking thing you can open when you type in cmd into the new task prompt.
ReplyDeleteThen, you go to the directory of your unzipped Folder by typing as an example d:\Bundler\ and pressing return. to start the application you type: RunBundler.py --photos=D:\MyPhotoFolder\
And press return. Then it will take all the photos in that folder and start doing its magic on them.
Tadaa
hi,
ReplyDeletei got some errors python 3.2 file atomatic opener set to C:\Python32\python.exe

Have you considered changing the python code to run multiple instances of the feature extractor on multiple images concurrently?
ReplyDeleteI've got an 6 core system and the whole process could be a lot faster if it was extracting features from 6 images at the same time instead of going image by image an leaving 5 cores idle.
Is it possible to add new cameras/camera parameters to the database included in this package?
ReplyDeleteSame as henrixapp, with python 3.2.1
ReplyDelete@henrixapp, @ole
ReplyDeleteyou need to use python 2.7.
in 3.2.1 the syntax for raise exception has changed. You will find the same problem with prints. And finally PIL module is required which currently supports python 2.x only.
So try in 2.7 and install PIL module ~
Great work! I have it successfully running on my windows machine. Yes, you need the python 2.7 and the python imaging library 1.1.7 (PIL) installed.
ReplyDeleteOne question, is there any way to browse the model in the .patch file?
Thanks a lot.
I have problem installing python 2.7 on windows 7 32 bit, is flagging this error (An error occurred during the installation of

any help appreciated...
Very nice. Works like a charm on the kermit example images, BUT when I try to run my own Canon S95 images, it tells me it "can't estimate focal length in pixels". I've already added my camera specs to the cameras.sqlite database. Is there anything else I am doing wrong? - Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt seems the EXIF information is not correctly read by the program. You may want to look into this. The program checks three fields (or tags), ExifImageWidth ExifImageHeight and FocalLength.
DeleteI use Nikon d70 and i have same problem...i checked exif and i dont have ExifImageWidth ExifImageHeight parameters.
Deletehi, i have a problem , after running Bundler i tried to run CMVS or PMVS and i got windows error "RadialUndistort.exe has stopped working" ' and windows stopped working

ReplyDeletewhen you run RunPMVS.py --bundlerOutputPath="myTempPath" is it suppose to display the point cloud or do you need some other program to run a certain file?
ReplyDeleteYou need Meshlab, I think.
ReplyDeletecan't run on my win 7 64 bit machine. gives an error:

Don't know why? have installed everything properly. Even tried with python 2.7 (and the corresponding PIL) as the comments suggest. Still no luck. Help needed ASAP!
Thanx in advance.
How can I change the default values in the pmvs_options.txt file that controls PMVS2 parameters?
